Student Art Recognized at Juried Exhibition

Numerous awards were presented to students whose artwork is featured in the 28th Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition in the Merwin and Wakeley Galleries of the Joyce G. Eichhorn Ames School of Art building at Illinois Wesleyan University.


The following students received awards for their works in painting, drawing, printmaking and photography:

  • GALLERY AWARDS - chosen by the School of Art Faculty, to Aleksandra Misiaszek ’17 (Chicago), “2AM,” acrylic; and Nancy Qu ’17 (Changshu, China), “Self Portrait,” acrylic;
  • FACULTY SELECTION AWARD - chosen by the School of Art Faculty, to Lucero Sanchez ’17 (Chicago), “Reflection,” Conté crayon; Justice Macklin ’16 (Flossmoor, Ill.), “Dream,” archival ink jet print; Ross Knezovich ’16 (Naperville, Ill.), “Living in the Moment,” Conté crayon and charcoal; Miranda Baldwin ’16 (Heyworth, Ill.), “The Light,” acrylic painting; Nancy Qu, “Self Portrait,” acrylic painting; and Rachael Schamberger ’16 (Chicago, Ill.), “Reach,” monoprint;
  • DIRECTOR’S AWARD, presented to Sabrina Luccioni Mancini ’17 (Chicago, Ill.), “Sometimes,” acrylic painting;
  • PRESIDENT’S AWARD – a cash award sponsored and chosen by President Wilson and Mrs. Wilson, to Justice Macklin, “Dream,” archival ink jet print;
  • MAYO ALUMNI AWARD(purchase prize); to Aleksandra Misiaszek, “2AM,” acrylic;
  • DYKE ALUMNI AWARD – sponsored by John Wesley Dyke IV ’02, to Rachael Schamberger, “Reach,” monoprint;
  • NATIONAL RESIDENCE HALL HONORARY (NRHH) “HALL OF THE YEAR” AWARD – (purchase prize), to Aleksandra Misiaszek, “I Was a Bio Major,” acrylic;
  • MEMORIAL CENTER PURCHASE PRIZE, to Miranda Baldwin, “View From Sagrada Familia,” oil on canvas;
  • SIPICH ALUMNI AWARD – sponsored by Amber Sipich ’13, to Eric Novak ’15 (Oswego, Ill.), “Bill Brian,” lithograph.

The students’ artwork will be featured in the galleries through Feb. 5. Gallery hours are 12-4 p.m. Monday-Friday, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday evening and 1-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
