BLOOMINGTON, Ill.— The 26th biannual “Undercover” live music competition will be held at 9 p.m. April 17 at Hansen Student Center. The concert features student musicians of all majors and musical backgrounds from the Illinois Wesleyan community.

This year’s line-up includes:

  • The Nations (feat. Yuka Sekine ’17, Nubari Kanee ’17 and David Yoon ’17)
  • Lizzy Hawk ’17
  • Jack Gardner ’17
  • Blue Umbrellas (feat. Tommy Bravos ’17 and Robby Kuntz ’18)
  • Friendship Overload (feat. Eric Novak ’15 and Ayethaw Tun ’15)

In a competition similar to a battle of the bands, students audition as individuals or in groups to perform two cover songs of their choosing at the live music concert. At Undercover, performers compete for the top prize: a gold-dusted “Guitar Hero” guitar and other additional cash prizes. Guest judges determine the top three competitors.

Director of Student Activities and Leadership Programs Colin Stewart will host Undercover 26 assisted by student programmers including: Yemaya Jennings ’17, Sneha Subramanian ’15, Pat Domke ’15, Tyler Casebolt ’18, Amy DeBoer ’15, Shannon Maloney ’18 and Maddie Savin ’15.

The event, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the Office of Student Activities.
