IWU Senior Artists to Display Their Work April 6-21

BLOOMINGTON, Ill.— Illinois Wesleyan University’s senior art majors and minors will
display their finest work produced during their last year at the annual BFA/BA Senior
Art Exhibition April 6-21 at the Merwin and Wakeley Galleries. The entries will include
works from all areas of the art program such as painting, drawing, printmaking, photography,
graphic design, ceramics, sculpture and glass casting.
The participating artists in the Senior Art Show are Masha Emmons (Bloomington, Illinois);
Devon Redlin (Bloomington, Minnesota); Nikki Taylor (Lincoln, Illinois) and Eric Novak
(Oswego, Illinois). Redlin also designed the exhibit poster.
A reception will be held April 18 from 1-3 p.m., with the awards ceremony at 1:30
p.m. Three awards will be presented: The Ames Library Purchase Award, the Center for
Liberal Arts Social Sciences Art Purchase Award, and the Women's Studies Art Purchase
Award. These entities also purchase works from the show for their permanent collections.
Students, faculty and guests attending the John Wesley Powell Student Research Conference
April 18 will view the works that afternoon, and art students who have participated
in the senior critique program will talk about their works at 3 p.m.
All the events are free and open to the public. The gallery is located inside the
Joyce Eichhorn Ames School of Art Building, 6 Ames Plaza. Hours are Monday-Friday
12-4 p.m., Tuesday 7-9 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday 1-4 p.m.
