Student Composition Concert

BLOOMINGTON, Ill.—

WHO: Illinois Wesleyan’s School of Music will present original and adapted pieces by the following student composers: Ethan Berg ’15, Tommy Bravos ’17, Megan Cherry ’17, Ryan Donlin ’17, Jeremy Gruner ’16, Abby Lyons ’14, Luke McLoughlin ’15, Sam Mullooly ’16, Eric Novak ’15 and Ayethaw Tun ’15.

WHAT: The concert will feature many of the student composers performing or conducting their own pieces with help from their colleagues in the School of Music.  

WHERE: Westbrook Auditorium of Presser Hall, located on Illinois Wesleyan’s campus

WHEN: Thursday, April 17 at 8 p.m.

DETAILS: The students have composed unique pieces for a seemingly countless array of instruments – violin, contrabass, cello, electric guitar and bass, voice and bari sax to name a few. Their works were inspired by topics ranging from spiders spinning their web, to alumna Illene Gorski’s short story “Nigel the Penguin.” For additional information regarding the concert, contact the School of Music at (309) 556 -3061.
