Faculty Recital Features Pianist R. Kent Cook

BLOOMINGTON, Ill.— Professor of Music R. Kent Cook will perform an array of renowned
piano compositions at February’s edition of the Faculty Recital Series, which will
be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 23 in Westbrook Auditorium of Presser Hall.
The program will include: George Frideric Handel’s Suite No. 3 in D minor, Ludwig van Beethoven’s Sonata No. 30 in E major, Op. 109 and Claude Debussy’s Préludes for the Piano, Book II.
Cook has been a member of the School of Music faculty since 1999 and currently serves
as head of the keyboard department. He graduated from Baylor University with a bachelor’s
degree in piano performance and later from Indiana University with both a masters
and doctorate degree in piano performance. The soloist and chamber musician has maintained
a dynamic concert schedule, performing at venues around the world.
