BLOOMINGTON, Ill.— Illinois Wesleyan University will celebrate International Education Week from November 11-15 this year, with campus activities planned throughout the week. Similar activities will be occurring worldwide, as the week is co-sponsored by the United States Departments of State and Education. Additional information about events can be found at: iew.state.gov
IWU’s events, which are free and open to the public, are sponsored by the International Office, and will include the following weeklong exhibits on the East Wall Display in the Memorial Center (104 E. University St., Bloomington), as well as the West Display Case in The Ames Library (1 Ames Plaza, Bloomington):
‘Mandalas Across Cultures’ – A pictorial display will show how mandalas span time, cultures, faith and nature.
‘Got Dutch?’ – Look around campus and start seeing signs in a new language.
‘World Money: A display of Global Currency’ – A sampling of global currency will be on display in The Ames Library.
On Wednesday, November 13, IWU will sponsor the following interactive events:
‘Titan Tinikling Dance Troupe’ – Bring your lunch and join the International Office in appreciation of “Tinikling,” the national dance of the Philippines, from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the Commons of the Center for Natural Science Learning and Research (CNS; 201 Beecher St., Bloomington).
Study Abroad Mini Fair – This event will also be held in the CNS Commons from 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
