Student Recital Series

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois Wesleyan School of Music will present a series of student recitals on Sunday, Feb. 17. Flutist Michelle Brecunier ’13 will begin the series, performing at 3 p.m. in Westbrook Auditorium of Presser Hall (1210 N. Park St., Bloomington). Performances by tenor Akash Bhatia ’14 soprano Hayley Koch ’14 will follow at 5 p.m. in Evelyn Chapel (1301 Park. St., Bloomington). The recitals are free and open to the public.

Brecunier will perform “Variations for Flute and Piano” by Rober Beaser, “” by Jennifer Higdon, “First Sonata for Flute and Piano” by Bohuslav Martinu and “Sonata for Flute and Piano, Op. 23” by Lowell Liebermann.

Junior tenor Akash Bhatia and junior soprano Hayley Koch will perform at 5 p.m. Bhatia will perform “Ridente la calma” by Wolfgang A. Mozart, “Quando ti rivedro” by Stefano Donaudy and from “Die schöne Müllerin,” “Op. 25, D. 795” by Franz Schubert.     

Koch will be performing “Va godendo” by George F. Handel, “Oh, vieni al mare!” by Gaetano Donizetti, Neue Liebe, Op. 19, No. 4 by Felix Mendelssohn and Du bist die Ruh, Op. 59, No. 3 by Franz Schubert.
