Symphonic Winds and Jazz Lab to Present Concert

BLOOMINGTON, Ill.— On Thursday, November 14, Illinois Wesleyan University’s School
of Music will present the Symphonic Winds and Jazz Lab Ensemble Concert. The concert,
which is free and open to the public, will be held at 8:00 p.m. in Westbrook Auditorium
of Presser Hall (1210 N. Park St., Bloomington).
Roger Garrett, assistant professor of music, is the conductor for Symphonic Winds and Timothy Pitchford, assistant professor of music, directs the Jazz Lab Ensemble.
The Symphonic Winds will perform a variety of pieces, including Gordon Jacob’s Music for a Festival, Percy Aldridge Grainger’s Irish Tune from County Derry and selections from Leonard Bernstein’s West Side Story, arranged by W.J. Duthoit.
Compositions that will be performed by the Jazz Lab Ensemble include Missing Tooth by Doug Beach, Jada by Oliver Nelson and Bob Mintzer’s The Heart of the Matter.
