Getty '54 To Channel Lincoln in Historic Address

BLOOMINGTON, Ill.— This Tuesday, November 19, Illinois Wesleyan alum James Getty ‘54 will perform for countless pondering eyes. Getty will perform Lincoln’s monumental speech for its sesquicentennial anniversary at Gettysburg National Military Park.

About 9,000 people are expected to attend the event. For over 30 years, Getty has embodied the 16th president while giving the Gettysburg Address in the same place as Lincoln’s landmark speech, which was made over 150 years ago.

Founded in 1977, Getty’s A. Lincoln’s Place is located in Gettysburg, Pa. Upon request, the Lincoln actor and Lincoln historian offers two programs: a seminar-style professional leadership program, and a program for general audiences.
