Student Recital Series

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois Wesleyan School of Music will present a series of
student recitals on Saturday, March 23. The series will begin with a performance by
soprano Lauren Timmons ’13 from Elgin, Ill. at 1 p.m., followed by a performance by
soprano Nicole Schneider ’13 from Peoria at 5 p.m. Both recitals will take place in
Westbrook Auditorium of Presser Hall (1210 N. Park St., Bloomington) and are free
and open to the public.
Timmons will perform “Music for a while” and “If music be the food of love” by Henry Purcell, “Lascia ch’io pianga” and “Bel piacere è godere” by George F. Handel, “Meine Liebe ist grün,” “Es träumte mir” and “Botschaft” by Johannes Brahms. She will also perform “Porgi, amor” and “Una donna a quindici anni” by Wolfgang A. Mozart, “La mort d’Ophélie” by Hector Berlioz and “Sorry her lot who loves too well” and “I cannot tell what this love may be” by Arthur Sullivan.
Schneider will perform “Chère nuit” by Alfred Bachelet, “Si tu le veux” by Charles Koechlin, “Si mes vers avaient des ailes!” by Reynaldo Hahn, “Alleluja” by Wolfgang A. Mozart, “Sure on this shining night” by Samuel Barber, “When I have sung my songs” by Ernest Charles and “Ach Ich Fuhls” by Wolfgang A. Mozart. She will also perform “Gretchen am Spinnrade” by Franz Schubert, “Widmung” by Robert Schumann, “Ave Maria” by Johann Sebastian Bach and Charles Gounod, “Hear my prayer Oh Lord” by Antonín Dvorák, “The Lord’s Prayer” by Albert Hay Malotte and “Vissi d’arte” by Giacomo Puccini.
