Council for IWU Women 2012 Summit

BLOOMINGTON, Ill.— Starting on Friday, Feb. 24, the Council for IWU Women will hold its annual summit on the campus of Illinois Wesleyan University.  Marsha Guenzler-Stevens, Class of 1978 and founding member of the council will be the keynote speaker for the event.

The Council for IWU Women, which began in 2006, was created to instill confidence in female students with the help of successful alumnae as mentors and as resources.

Students are asked to RSVP for the session they plan to attend to Darcy Greder, associate dean of student affairs/co-curricular programming at dgreder@iwu.edu, and faculty and staff are asked to RSVP to Connie Vail, events coordinator – alumni relations/development at cvail@iwu.edu.

A schedule of the program follows:

Friday, February 24

11:45 a.m. — Kick Off Celebration Luncheon with Marsha Guenzler Stevens ‘78 (keynote speaker); a guest performance by Touch of Class, Young Main Lounge, Memorial Center

1:00 p.m. — Practice Interviews at the Hart Career Center with alumnae (must pre-register on Titan CareerLink)

3:00 p.m. — “My Journey as a Peace Corps Volunteer,” Kelly Petrowski ’08, Hansen Student Center

4:00 p.m. — Cocktail School in the Hansen Student Center followed by Happy Hour at Tommy’s where students can use what they have learned.

Saturday, February 25

9:30 a.m. — Morning Presentation by Claudia Brogan ’77 with coffee and light refreshments, Davidson Room, Memorial Center

10:00 a.m. — Panel Sessions (select one)

— Women’s Health & Stress Management

— Beginning the Journey—Hints and Tips on How to Face the 2012 Job Market, Davidson and Cartwright Rooms, Memorial Center

11:00 a.m. — Panel Sessions (select one)

— Everything You Wanted to Know About Graduate/Professional School

— Preparing for the Journey—Making the Most of Your Time at IWU, Davidson and Cartwright Rooms, Memorial Center

12-2 p.m. — Closing Reception lunch with keynote speaker Carol Brandt ’78 and Scholarship Award Presentation, Young Main Lounge, Memorial Center
