Candlelight Vigil to Celebrate the Life of Brandon Landau
March 7, 2012
Classmates, friends and members of the Illinois Wesleyan community will come together
tonight, March 7, at 10 p.m. for a candlelight vigil in remembrance of Brandon Landau,
the first-year student who lost his life Sunday, March 4. The vigil will take place
on the Eckley Quadrangle in front of the Joslin Atrium.
Later this week the Landau family will lay their son to rest in his Bronx, N.Y. hometown.
Brandon died for as-yet-unknown reasons following an off-campus Sigma Pi Fraternity
social event, which took place in the northern Illinois community of Polo.
Brandon, a political science major, lived in Gulick Hall, was a member of the Sigma
Pi Fraternity and worked at Tommy’s Grille in the Hansen Student Center. A campus
memorial service is being planned and will be announced in the coming weeks.
