Stewart Named New Director of Student Activities

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Illinois Wesleyan University is pleased to announce that Colin
Stewart has been named the new director of student activities and leadership programs
at Illinois Wesleyan University.
Stewart is currently the assistant director of student life at Franklin College Switzerland
in Lugano, Switzerland. He will begin his duties at Illinois Wesleyan on July 11,
which will include overseeing student activities in the 33,000-square-foot Hansen
Student Center, as well as the new Titan Leadership Program.
According to Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students Kathy Cavins-Tull,
Stewart “brings an energy and excitement for students and student programming that
will well serve our campus community and enhance the established Hansen Student Center
Stewart earned a bachelor’s degree from the School of Business at Central Washington
University, and a master’s degree in student development administration from Seattle
University in Washington state, where he also served as the coordinator of student
development. He also worked for Regis University in Denver, Colo., as a residence
life coordinator. His current duties at Franklin College include managing aspects
of community development, student activities and housing for a residential population
of students with representation from more than 67 nationalities.
Throughout his career, Stewart has made numerous presentations, including those to
the national conferences of the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators
in 2010, and the National Association of Campus Activities in 2008. He is a member
of the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators and the Jesuit Association
of Student Personnel Administrators.
