BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois Wesleyan University Wind Ensemble will present a concert on Friday, Sept. 30 at 7:30 p.m. at the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts (600 N. East St., Bloomington). The event is free and open to the public.
Conducted by Professor of Music Steven Eggleston, the Wind Ensemble will perform: Celebrations by John P. Zdechlik, Second Suite for Military Band in F Major by Gustav Holst, Chorale and Alleluia by Howard Hanson, Country Band March by Charles Ives and Four Dances from West Side Story by Leonard Bernstein.
The concert will feature tuba soloist Edward Risinger, an instructor of tuba and euphonium at Illinois Wesleyan, as well as director of the Titan Band. He will perform Tubby the Tuba by George Kleinsinger, and Carnival of Venice by Jean-Baptiste Arban.
