BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois Wesleyan University School of Music will present a series of student recitals on Saturday, March 26. The recitals are free and open to the public. Senior Michelle Banas will begin the series, performing at 1 p.m. in Westbrook Auditorium of Presser Hall (1210 N. Park St., Bloomington).
Banas will present her own original compositions, which will include, Say Goodbye, From the Heart, Story- Celebration Gone Wrong and Mourning, Wandering Through a Dream and Flute and Oboe Duet Movements I and II.
Senior flautist Evyn Neumesiter will perform at 3 p.m. in Evelyn Chapel (1301 Park St., Bloomington). Neumeister, accompanied by pianist Elaine Vogt will perform Poem for Flute and Piano by Charles T. Griffes, Irlandaise by Claude Bolling and Concertino for Flute and Piano, Op. 107 by Cecile Chaminade.
Junior pianist Rachel West will perform at 5 p.m. in Westbrook Auditorium. The program will include, Piano Sonata No. 33 in C minor, Hob. XVI:20 by Joseph Haydn, Suite for Piano, Op. 13 by Robert Muczynski, Nocturne pour le main gauche, Op. 9 by Alexander Scriabin and Ballade Op. 47, No. 3 by Frédéric Chopin.
Senior percussionist Dan McLaughlin will round out the evening, performing at 7:30 p.m. in Westbrook Auditorium. McLaughlin will perform Inspirations Diabolique by Rick Tagawa, Rituals by Bruce Hamilton, Concerto for Vibraphone by Ney Rosauro, Drumbone by Matt Goldman, Phil Stanton and Chris Wink and Shadow Chasers by Michael Burritt.
