BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois Wesleyan School of Music will present a Black History Month Tribute to Marian Anderson featuring Associate Professor Carren Moham singing soprano and Associate Professor Richard Kent Cook on piano on Sunday, Feb. 27 at 3 p.m. in Westbrook Auditorium of Presser Hall (1210 Park St., Bloomington).
The event is free and open to the public.
The selections for this recital are based off of a program from one of Anderson’s concerts in 1954. They include classic works by Handel and Schubert as well as works by various African-American composers Anderson often worked with.
