Christmas Around the World

November 22, 2011

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Evelyn Chapel (1301 Park St., Bloomington) will present “Christmas Around the World,” a joint faculty, staff and student multilingual holiday service. The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 7 p.m.

The service will feature reflections on the magi’s visit to the Holy Family according to the Gospel of Matthew, as well as traditions of gift giving, including the story of St. Nicholas. The Adopt-a-Family gift giving project, co-sponsored by service fraternity Alpha Phi Omega (APO) and business fraternity Alpha Kappa Psi (AKP), will be highlighted.

Led by a variety of Illinois Wesleyan ensembles, the congregation will also be invited to sing carols. A reception will follow the service.
