BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Anthony E. Stellaccio Visiting Artist & Lecture Series fund will present an artist’s lecture on Thursday, Feb. 17 at 6 p.m. in Room 218 of the Joyce Eichhorn Ames School of Art Building (6 Ames Plaza West, Bloomington). The lecture is free and open to the public.
The presentation will feature internationally acclaimed ceramic artist Jason Walker, whose work is influenced by nature. “My ideas stem from my own experiences bicycle touring, backpacking and the daily hikes I take with my dog,” said Walker. According to Walker, his artwork focuses on drawing the “small things of nature large and the huge creations of man small.”
Walker, a native of Idaho, currently resides and works as a studio artist in Bellingham, Wash. He received a bachelor of fine arts from Utah State University in 1996 and a masters in fine arts from Pennsylvania State University in 1999. His works are displayed internationally.
