BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Illinois Wesleyan University 2007 alumna Kate Tombaugh will perform at the Guest Alumna Recital on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 8:00 p.m. in Presser Hall’s Westbrook Auditorium (1210 N. Park St., Bloomington).
Tombaugh will also speak at the School of Music Convocation on Thursday, Nov. 17 at 4 p.m. in Westbrook Auditorium. The events are open to the public and free of charge. Both will be video streamed online, live and on demand.
After graduating from IWU with a bachelor of music degree in vocal performance and a bachelor of arts degree in English literature, Tombaugh received her masters in vocal performance from the College-Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati (CCM), Ohio. While attending CCM, she was honored as a Dieterle Vocal Scholar for maintaining top grades and a high level of performance.
She has since performed in musical theatre roles as “Annie Oakley” in Annie, Get Your Gun, “Sandy Dumbrowski” in Grease, as well as “Cinderella” in Cinderella. Tombaugh has also performed as a Gerdine Young Artist with the Opera Theatre of St. Louis and in the Opera Studio of the American Institute of Musical Studies Festival in Graz, Austria.
