BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois Wesleyan University Wind Ensemble will present a concert along with the Millikin University Symphonic Wind Ensemble on Sunday, Nov. 7 at 3 p.m. at the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts (600 N. East St., Bloomington).
The Millikin ensemble will be conducted by Gary Shaw and will perform: Toccata Marziale by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Ballad for Band by Morton Gould, Angels in the Architecture by Frank Ticheli and Concertino for Percussion and Wind Ensemble by David Gillingham.
The Illinois Wesleyan Wind Ensemble is conducted by Professor Steven Eggleston and will perform: Canzona by Peter Mennin, El Salon Mexico by Aaron Copland, Aurora Awakes by John Mackey and Chester by William Schuman. The two ensembles will combine to play the Overture from Divertimento for Brass and Percussion by Karel Husa and Music for the Royal Fireworks by George Frideric Handel.
