BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois Wesleyan Jazz Lab Band will hold a concert on Saturday, April 10 at 7:30 p.m. The performance, which is free and open to the public, will be held in Westbrook Auditorium of Presser Hall (1210 Park St., Bloomington).
Directed by Professor of Music Thomas Streeter, the band will perform My Baby Ain’t Got by Phil Wilson, My Funny Valentine by Rodgers and Hart, Marketplace by Denis BiBlasio, Ride the Wind by Les Hooper, God Bless’ The Child by Herzog and Holiday, Da Ba Dat by Ron Paley, She’s Gone by Chuck Mangione, Home Again by Mike Tomaro, Day Tripper by Lenon and McCartney, Easy to Love by Cole Porter, I’ve Got A Crush On You by Johnny Mercer and Time Stream by Sammy Nestico.
Soloists will include senior Nate Dickman on trumpet, first-year student Ini Essien on tenor saxophone, senior Steve Little on trumpet, first-year student Stan Dulkoski on vibraphone, first-year student Jarrod Hill on alto saxophone, sophomore vocalist Jordan Pettis, senior Mark Steiner on alto saxophone, first-year student Phil Lewis on piano and first-year student Christina Hoblin on trombone.
The Jazz Lab Band began at the request of students who desired a jazz experience at Illinois Wesleyan without the necessity of an audition. The group, now in its 32nd year, is open to all students on campus.
