IWU School of Music to Hold Faculty Recital

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois Wesleyan University School of Music will present
the faculty recital of Rick Leister, adjunct professor, and Ririko Hayashi, adjunct
instructor and accompanist, The R&R Ensemble, on Sunday, Jan. 17 at 3 p.m. in Westbrook
Auditorium of Presser Hall (1210 Park St., Bloomington).
The event is free and open to the public.
Recital pieces will include Orientale by J. Ed. Barat, Four Variations on a Theme by Domenico Scarlatti by Marcel Bitsch, Rose Variations by Robert Russell Bennet, Nocturne (from the Concerto) by Henri Tomasi and Sonata for Trumpet and Piano by Eric Ewazen.
Leister, who teaches trumpet, is a professional trumpet player in the Chicago area
and has been one of the top call musical theatre trumpet players in the city.
Hayashi, who has taught piano at Illinois Wesleyan since 1991, received a master of
music degree and an artist diploma with high distinction from Indiana University.
Leister and Hayashi plan soon to release the CD, From the Trumpet Studio.
