BLOOMINGTON, Ill.— Illinois Wesleyan University will host its tenth annual Cello Camp June 10-20.
The program, which enrolls 30 participants from more than 10 states, includes daily private lessons, cello ensembles, master classes, elective classes and concert performances as well. Free and open to the public, all concerts will be held in Westbrook Auditorium of Presser Hall (1210 Park St., Bloomington).
The camp will officially open at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, with a performance by camp faculty—Nina Gordon, associate professor of music and founder/director of the program, Serafim Smigleskiy, Ian Maksin, Adriana LaRosa Ransom and Dana Hughlett.
Student concerts will be held Sunday, June 13 at 3 p.m., Wednesday, June 16 at 7:30 p.m. and Friday, June 18 at 7:30 p.m. The camp will conclude with the 16th annual Midwest Cello Celebration on Sunday, June 20 at l p.m. in Westbrook, highlighting students, faculty and guest participants.
