School of Music to Present Alumni Recital

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Illinois Wesleyan University’s School of Music will present an alumni recital featuring soprano Sarah Price and pianist Sara Hoffee on Sunday, Dec. 5 at 5 p.m. in Westbrook Auditorium of Presser Hall (1210 Park St., Bloomington).

The performance is free and open to the public. 

Price, class of ’03, graduated from Illinois Wesleyan with a bachelor of music degree. In 2005, she received a master of music from Bowling Green State University in Ohio.  Price currently lives in St. Charles, Mo., and was recently named a finalist for the Metropolitan Opera Council St. Louis District auditions. In January, she will proceed to the regional competition in Kansas City, Mo. The winners in Kansas City will have a chance to compete in New York at the Grand Finals on the Met stage, with full orchestra, on March 13.

Hoffee, class of ’03, graduated from Illinois Wesleyan with a bachelor of music degree. While on campus, she was a member of Sigma Alpha Iota, the international music fraternity for women; Pi Kappa Lambda, the national music honors society and Phi Kappa Phi, the collegiate honors society. Hoffee currently lives in Bloomington. and is an adjunct instructor for the piano preparatory department at Illinois Wesleyan.

The program will include works such as Ariettes oubliees L. 60 by Claude Debussy, Tacea la notte placida from Il trovatore by Giuseppe Verdi and Vissi d’arte from Tosca by Giacomo Puccini, among others.
