BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois Wesleyan chapter of Kappa Delta will hold its 8th annual Shamrock Project bowl-a-thon and silent auction on Sunday, Feb. 28 at Pheasant Lanes (804 N. Hershey Rd., Bloomington) from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The event is open to the community and the cost is $6 to bowl the first game and $4 for each additional game. Shoe rental is included in the cost and free refreshments will be provided. Prizes will be awarded to the top ten bowlers. A silent auction featuring items donated by local businesses will be held during the event. Tickets for the silent auction will be sold at the event at 6 tickets for $5 or 11 tickets for $10.
The week leading up to the bowl-a-thon, members of Kappa Delta will be selling gummy bears for $0.50 per bag at the tables outside of the Bertholf Commons during lunch and dinner.
Proceeds will be donated to Prevent Child Abuse America and The Baby Fold. The Baby Fold is an agency located in Normal that provides support for children and families in the form of residential living, child welfare, special education and family support services.
“It’s wonderful to have a night of bowling, fun and games,” said senior Kappa Delta member Monica Piotrowski, “but it is even better knowing that we can help change the lives of children. The Baby Fold provides many services to help local families and as a Kappa Delta, I’m proud to support them.”
