March 22, 2010
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – St. Norbert College, De Pere, Wis., announced today that Jeffrey
A. Frick, Illinois Wesleyan University’s associate provost for academic services,
has been named as its new dean and academic vice president. Frick who leads the Registrar’s
Office at IWU, will begin his new duties at St. Norbert on July 1.
“Jeff has been a great colleague and valued member of the academic leadership team,”
said Provost Beth A. Cunningham. “Over his 18 year career at Wesleyan, he has made
many contributions as a faculty member, scholar, department chair, registrar and associate
provost. I want to thank him for all that he has done at IWU and, on behalf of his
colleagues, wish him every success at St. Norbert.”
Frick was named associate provost for academic services in 2008 and has been registrar
since 2005. He came to Illinois Wesleyan as a faculty member in the chemistry department
in 1992. Frick earned a Ph.D. in chemistry from Loyola University of Chicago and
received his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Augustana College in Rock Island,
Ill. In 1995, Frick was named Student Senate Professor of the Year.
“I am very sorry that we are losing Jeff but happy to see him advance in his career.
We have been fortunate to have had someone of his caliber as our registrar, which
will make replacing him something we need to consider carefully,” said President Richard
F. Wilson. “We plan to move forward immediately with a search for a registrar in
hopes that we will have someone in place when Jeff leaves us later this year.”
Frick will succeed, Michael Marsden, who has served at St. Norbert as dean and academic
vice president since 2003. Marsden will continue as a faculty member at the college.
