BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois Wesleyan choral ensembles will present their annual Christmas Choral Concert on Sunday, Dec. 6 at 3 p.m. at Holy Trinity Church (704 N. Main St., Bloomington).
General admission is $10, $5 for senior citizens and Illinois Wesleyan alumni and $2 for high school and college students. Admission is free for students eighth grade and under. Tickets will be available at the main office of the IWU School of Music in Presser Hall (1210 N. Park St.) and at the door on the day of the concert.
Under the direction of J. Scott Ferguson, professor in music, and Brian Russell, instructor in music, the Collegiate Choir, the University Choir and the Chamber Singers will perform selections by composers including Palestrina, Dering, Praetorius, Holst, Thompson, Boyce, Carey, Whikehart. The choirs will also perform traditional carols.
Joining the Illinois Wesleyan choirs will be the Wheaton Warrenville Chamber Madrigal Choir conducted by Gordon Krauspe.
