BLOOMINGTON, Ill. — For the 12th straight year, the Illinois Wesleyan football team participated this fall in the Coach Don "Swede" Larson Memory Walk, raising money
for the Greater Illinois Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.
The Titan football team, along with local high school football teams, have raised
nearly $95,000 to date and the 2008 Bloomington/Normal Memory Walk raised over $115,000.
Monies raised in the walk are used in the community for research, education and various
programs including the "Helpline," support groups, and Safe Return.
The walk is named for former Wesleyan football coach Don "Swede" Larson, who worked
at IWU for 35 years and had a career record of 166-121-6 with five conference championships
