Electronics Recycling Day a Step in Campus Sustainability Efforts
May 9, 2008
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Information Technology (IT) is hosting an electronics recycling
day for the Illinois Wesleyan University students, faculty and staff on Wednesday,
May 14. Unwanted electronic devices may be dropped off from 7:30 a.m. to noon and
from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the IT office, located at 1207 N. Main St. between Kemp
Hall and the Memorial Center.
Electronics recycling day is being inaugurated this year due to campus-wide interest.
“IT staff members are often asked about options for disposing old electronics,” said
Trey Short, director of computer services. “Since IT recycles old University equipment
twice a year, we thought it would be great to open the recycle day to the campus community.”
IT will accept laptop and desktop computers, computer monitors, printers, VCRs and
DVD players, stereo receivers and amps, cell phones and small batteries for recycling.
