First Civic Orchestra Concert of Semester

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois Wesleyan Civic Orchestra will present its first concert of the school year on Friday, Oct. 17 at 7:30 p.m. in the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts (110 E. Mulberry St. Bloomington, Ill.).

Conducted by Brian Dollinger, music director and conductor of the Bradley Symphony Orchestra at Bradley University in Peoria, the orchestra will play portions of Peter Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings, Op. 48. The concert will also feature Bedrich Smetana’s Overture to “The Bartered Bride” and Jean Sibelius’s Symphony No. 2, Op. 43 in D Major.

Tickets can be reserved through the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts Box Office and will be available at the door. Admission is $10 for the general public with discounts for senior citizens and IWU alumni and $2 for IWU students.
