November 8, 2007

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Professors drafting the first questions of their final exams may have to reconsider the meaning of generosity as Illinois Wesleyan University’s School of Theatre Arts presents Scrooge! The Christmas Musical in the McPherson Theatre (2 Ames Plaza East, Bloomington) beginning Thursday, Nov. 15 at 8 p.m.  The adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol will play at 8:00 p.m. Nov. 15-Nov. 18 and Nov. 29-Dec. 1, with 2:00 p.m. matinees Nov. 17-18 and Dec. 2.

Originally written and performed for the big screen, Scrooge! General admission tickets are $10 for Friday and Saturday performances and $8 for Thursday and Sunday performances.  Seniors receive a $1 discount on tickets for any showing, and student tickets are $1 for any performance with a valid ID.

Remaining shows in McPherson’s 2007-2008 season are The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams (Jan. 29-31) and Love’s Labors Lost by William Shakespeare (Feb. 26-29, Mar. 1-2).
