I-Society and International Office Sponsor “World Piece”

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – As part of the new “World Piece” program, the Illinois Wesleyan
University International Society Student Organization (I-Society), and the International
Office will sponsor the discussion, “Understanding Islam — a Cultural Perspective,”
on Monday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. at the International House (Kemp Hall, 1207 N. Main St.,
Bloomington). IWU students, faculty and staff, as well as members of the community
are invited to attend.
The “World Piece” program is a monthly series of hour-long student-led discussions
focusing on current global issues. Farah Munir, a sophomore accounting and economics
major, from Dhaka, Bangladesh, will lead this month’s discussion. The facilitator
of the discussion will be Marie Claudine Villacorta, a junior double major in international
studies, and French and francophone studies, from Manilla, Philippines.
I-Society is a student organization that promotes cultural awareness on the IWU campus,
brings together students of various ethnicities, and encourages IWU students to study
