Madrigal Dinner to be Held at IWU

October 25, 2007

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Illinois Wesleyan University’s Madrigal Dinner, “Pastime With Good Company,” will be held on Friday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. in the newly renovated Main Lounge of Memorial Center (104 University St., Bloomington). The Madrigal Dinner is a Renaissance dinner show hosted by members of the IWU Madrigal Group. The group became a student organization in the spring of 2006, and this will be their second Madrigal Dinner.

Written and organized by senior music major Caitlin Ludwig, the goal of the event is to bring Renaissance culture to life through music, dance, drama, and cuisine. The show, featuring 16 singers and 10 actors, runs for two hours and will include Renaissance songs, a brass quintet, and a skit.

Dinner options include filet mignon, crab-stuffed chicken, or a wild mushroom vegetarian option.  Tickets are $6 for students on a meal plan, $10 for students without a meal plan, and $37 for the general public. Tickets may be purchased in advance or at the door with either cash or check.
