IWU Student Honored by United Way

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Illinois Wesleyan University student Kari Benning was honored on Thursday, April 19 at the United Way of McLean County’s annual Volunteer Recognition Event at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bloomington for her volunteer work with the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization.

Benning, a junior chemistry major from Winnebago, Ill. was nominated by the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization and selected out of 25 volunteers as one of the five 2007 Volunteers of the Year.   She was selected for her demonstration of care, innovation, inspiration and orientation to results.
