BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Eleanora L. Eberwein, 92, of rural Bloomington, died at 9:25 a.m. Wednesday (Aug. 15, 2007) at Asta Care Center of Bloomington.

Her graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Cemetery, Bloomington, with the Rev. John Cyr officiating. There will be no visitation. Carmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home, Bloomington, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Illinois Wesleyan University.

Eleanora was born Nov. 4, 1914, in Bloomington, the daughter of John and Anna Albrecht Katz. She married Andrew J. Eberwein on Jan. 13, 1934, in Bloomington. He died Sept. 20, 1975.

Survivors include one daughter, Jeanne (Lyle) Johnson, Bloomington; one grandson, Michael (Cassandra) Johnson, St. Charles; and one great-grandson, Noah Johnson.

She was preceded in death by two brothers.

Eleanora worked for the Beich Candy Co. for over 40 years. After retirement, she was employed by Marriott Food Service in the Dugout at Illinois Wesleyan University for many years where she was known affectionately as "Grandma." Eleanora loved her family and her dogs, Chinky and Gracie, and will be missed by her family and friends, especially for her energy and generosity.
