Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Winds to Perform

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Illinois Wesleyan University’s Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Winds will perform on Sunday, Sept. 30 at 3:00 p.m. at the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts (110 E. Mulberry St., Bloomington).

This event is free and open to the public.

The Wind Ensemble, conducted by Steven Eggleston, professor of music, will perform Richard Strauss’ “Weiner Philharmoniker” Fanfare, Malcolm Arnold’s “Tam O’Shanter” arranged by John Paynter, Roger Nixon’s “Fiesta del Pacifico,” and John Zdechlik’s “Celebrations.”

Roger Garrett, assistant professor of music, will direct the Symphonic Winds.  Their repertoire will consist of Jack Stamp’s Fanfare for a “New Era,” Gustav Holst’s Suite No. 2 in F, Eric Whitacre’s “Lux Aurumque,” and John Barnes Chance’s “Incantation and Dance.”
