BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois Wesleyan University School of Music’s Wind Ensemble will perform in concert on Friday, April 20 at 7:30 p.m. in the Westbrook Auditorium of Presser Hall (1210 Park St., Bloomington).
The event is free and open to the public.
Under the direction of founder Steven Eggleston, professor of music, the ensemble will perform the following pieces: Short Ride in a Fast Machine by John Adams, Perthshire Majesty by Samuel Hazo, Molly on the Shore by Percy Grainger, Vientos y Tengos by Michael Gandolfi, Pineapple Poll by Arthur Sullivan, Elsa’s Procession to the Cathedral by Dmitri Kabalevsky, and Nitro by Frank Ticheli.
These pieces will also be performed during the annual Wind Ensemble Tour, this year to take place May 2-4. Venues will include high schools in Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio.
