Symphonic Winds and Wind Ensemble to Perform Concert

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Illinois Wesleyan University’s Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Winds will perform a concert on Friday, Nov. 9 at 7:30 p.m. Free and open to the public, the concert will take place in Westbrook Auditorium of Presser Hall (1210 Park St., Bloomington).

The Wind Ensemble, conducted by Steven Eggleston, professor of music and trumpet, will play Petite Symphonie by Charles Gounod, From a Dark Millennium by Joseph Schwantner, Heroes Lost and Fallen by David Gillingham, and Danza Final by Alberto Ginastera.

Roger Garrett, professor of clarinet and conducting, will direct the Symphonic Winds as they perform Divertimento for Band, Op. 45 by Vincent Persichetti, “Jupiter” from The Planets by Gustav Holst, Symphonic Concert March by G. Bonelli and arranged by Nicholas D. Falcone, and Tulsa, A Symphonic Portrait in Oil by Don Gillis.
