Percussion Ensemble to Give Concert

November 13, 2007

BLOOMINGTON, Ill.—  Illinois Wesleyan’s Percussion Ensemble will give a concert at 1 p.m. on Sunday Nov. 18 in the Westbrook Auditorium of Presser Hall (1210 N. Park St., Bloomington).

The event is free and open to the public, featuring senior music major Brad Meyer as performer and conductor. Pieces to be presented are mostly classical works and include a composition by recent IWU alum Brian Baxter (’07).

The Percussion Ensemble is comprised of students with applied majors and minors, as well as those enrolled in the Percussion Technique course. It was designed to assist in the development of ensemble skills within the percussion field of music. Because of the wide variety of percussion ensemble literature, students are able to explore different composers and styles from around the world.
