IWU Civic Orchestra to Perform

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Illinois Wesleyan University’s Civic Orchestra will perform a concert on Friday, March 30 at 7:30 p.m. at the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts (110 E. Mulberry St. Bloomington).

Tickets may be purchased at the door and general admission is $10.  Admission for IWU alumni and senior citizens is $5, high school students and University students with a valid ID is $1 and children in 8th grade or younger are free.

Founded in 1984 by director and conductor Steven W. Eggleston, IWU professor of music, the ensemble has performed with many esteemed soloists and is made up of students from all disciplines.

Some of the guests the ensemble has hosted throughout its tenure are Armando Ghitalla, former principal trumpet of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, baritone Roger Roloff, a critically acclaimed soloist with the Chicago Lyric Opera, and Laszlo Varga, former principal cellist of the New York Philharmonic.
