IWU Alumna to Compete on "Millionaire"

February 2, 2007

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Illinois Wesleyan Alumna Melissa Caldwell, along with her fiance, Steve Szeredy, will compete as a team on "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" next week, hoping to win a prize that will pay for their upcoming wedding.

The shows will air on Thursday, Feb. 8 and Friday, Feb. 9. at 11 a.m. on WGN and will be shown on the big screen at IWU's Hansen Student Center (300 Beecher St., Bloomington).

The week-long series special, "Play to Pay for your Wedding," features engaged couples who take the "hot seat" as a team and are allowed to discuss questions with each other before agreeing on a final answer.

An Effingham, Ill. native, Caldwell graduated from IWU in 2002 as a computer science and business administration double major and was designated a Distinguished Senior in IWU's Division of Business and Economics that spring.  Szeredy graduated from Illinois State University in the same year.  The couple plans to wed on "the luckiest day of the century," July 7, 2007 (07/07/07).
