BLOOMINGTON, Ill.—On June 29, Illinois Wesleyan University and Neighbor-to-Neighbor will host the 16th annual Minority Academic Achievement Recognition Ceremony. The event, which honors the achievements of honor roll students in grades five through 12 from the Bloomington-Normal area, will be held in the Shirk Athletic Center, 302 E. Emerson St., in Bloomington.
The ceremony is by invitation only.
Registration and a reception will be held from 5:30 to 6 p.m. Dinner will follow with a ceremony and the presentation of special certificates of achievements from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
The featured guest speaker will be Pastor Colleen Bennett of the City of Refuge Church in Bloomington. In addition to IWU and Neighbor-to-Neighbor, a Bloomington-Normal community organization, the event is supported by State Farm Insurance Companies, the Pantagraph, CEFCU and Country Insurance and Financial Services/Illinois Farm Bureau/IAA.
