World Renowned Theatre Group Comes to IWU

February 23, 2007

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Ma'at Production Association of Afrikan Centered Theatre (MPAACT) will present their production, titled Blaxploitation 2, in the Hansen Student Center (300 Beecher St., Bloomington) at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 28, 2007.  This event is free and open to the public.

Blaxploitation 2 is a continuation of MPAACT's critically acclaimed Blaxploitation: The Remix that the group performed at IWU in 2005.  The production is an original collection of sketch performances that are said to be courageous and provocative in their views on race, class, and politics.

MPAACT, started by a group of University of Illinois students in 1990, was founded with the idea of sharing knowledge of Afrikan and Afrikan-American culture.   In their first 15 years of production the group received over 50 various awards and honors.
