BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The schedule of events for IWU's annual Gender Issues Week, sponsored by the Student Welfare and Human Relations Commission of Student Senate and co-sponsored by IWU Pride Alliance and the Feminist Majority Leadership Alliance (FMLA), is as follows:
March 5 (Monday)
4-7 p.m. -Spring Fever games and activities sponsored by FMLA and Planned Parenthood in the Eckley Lounge of Memorial Center, 104 E. University St., Bloomington.
March 6 (Tuesday)
6-7 p.m. - Non-discrimination pledges at the Hansen Information Desk, preceding the Mat Kearney concert at the Hansen Student Center, 300 E. Beecher St., Bloomington.
March 7 (Wednesday)
4-5 p.m. - Q & A session with activist group, the Guerrilla Girls, who are known for appearing in public under the names of dead women artists while wearing gorilla masks for anonymity. Co-sponsored by FMLA, the Student Senate Student Welfare and Human Relations Commission, Kappa Pi international honorary art fraternity, the IWU School of Art, Tri-Iota women's studies honor society and the Women's Studies Department, the event will take place in CNS C101, 201 Beecher St., Bloomington.
8-9:30 p.m. - Presentation with the Guerrilla Girls in Hansen Student Center, 300 E. Beecher St., Bloomington.
March 8 (Thursday)
8 p.m.-Presentation by liberal sex advice columnist, journalist and author Dan Savage in Hansen Student Center, 300 E. Beecher St., Bloomington.
March 9 (Friday)
"Art on the Quad" sponsored by Kappa Pi.
March 10 (Saturday)
9 a.m.- 1 p.m.-"Connecting IWU Women: Past and Present," topical sessions about women's issues presented by IWU women alumna, including a noon luncheon and award presentation, Hansen Student Center, 300 E. Beecher St., Bloomington.
