Community-Wide Clothing Swap at IWU

January 12, 2007

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – On Saturday, Jan. 27, Illinois Wesleyan University’s Office of Residential Life, in an effort to encourage sustainable living on campus and in the community, will sponsor a community-wide clothing swap.

From Sunday, Jan. 21, until Friday, Jan. 26, students are invited to drop off their gently used clothing at the front desks of their residence halls, while members of the Bloomington-Normal community are invited to drop off their clothing at the Hansen Student Center (300 E. Beecher St., Bloomington) during normal business hours.

Those who donate will receive a ticket for each item donated, which can later be redeemed for a pick of the clothing donated by community members and IWU students at the Hansen Student Center from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 27.  Clothing can also be dropped off at the Hansen Student Center on Saturday, Jan. 27, although no tickets will be awarded.

All students and community members, even those who do not donate, are welcome to browse the clothing left from 2 p.m.-8 p.m. at the Hansen Student Center.  Following the event, leftover clothing will be donated to a charity yet to be named.
