Blue Moon Coffeehouse to Feature Folk Musician

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Jess Klein will give a concert at the Blue Moon Coffeehouse on
Saturday, Nov. 17 at 8 p.m. in the Memorial Center Main Lounge (104 E. University
St., Bloomington). Doors open at 7:30 p.m.
Known for “lyrics that alternate between searing and heartbreakingly vulnerable, and
a gritty, primal production style,” Klein began playing guitar and writing songs while
studying abroad in Kingston, Jamaica during college.
“One day I sat down and was working on the three chords I knew, and I just started
writing a song,” said Klein in an interview for the Boston Globe. “I realized that was my unique gift: the ability to think of a song and write and
Klein has recorded seven albums, the most recent of which, City Garden, was released in 2006. She has also toured internationally, playing at festivals
such as SXSW, the Sundance Film Festival, and Japan’s Fuji Rock Festival.
Tickets for the public are $10 each and are available at The Garlic Press (108 W.
North St., Normal) and at the venue, beginning at 6 p.m. Tickets can also be reserved
