Tributaries Sponsors Tongue & Ink Creative Writing Conference

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Illinois Wesleyan student group Tributaries will sponsor the 2nd Annual Tongue & Ink Creative Writing Conference on Friday, February 24 and Saturday, February 25.  The Conference will feature keynote speakers Olena Kalytiak-Davis and Ander Monson.  Monson will read a selection of his short stories on Friday night at 7:00 and Kalytiak-Davis will read a selection of her poetry Saturday afternoon at 4:00.  Both readings will take place in the Main Lounge (104 University St., Bloomington).

The readings are free and open to the public.

Olena Kalytiak Davis is the author of two collections of poetry, shattered sonnets love cards and other off and back handed importunities and And Her Soul Out Of Nothing which was selected for the Brittingham Prize in Poetry. Her poems have appeared in numerous journals and anthologies, including four volumes of Best American Poetry.

Ander Monson lives in Michigan, where he edits the progressive literary magazine DIAGRAM and the New Michigan Press. Sarabande Books published OTHER ELECTRICITIES, a novel, in 2005, and Tupelo Press published VACATIONLAND, a collection of poems, at the same time.
