IWU's Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society Inducts 28 Members

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Twenty-eight new members will be inducted in Phi Kappa Phi (PKP) at Illinois Wesleyan during an initiation ceremony scheduled for 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 8.  The event will be held in room C101 of the Center for Natural Science Learning and Research (CNS), (201 Beecher St., Bloomington).

Phi Kappa Phi is a national honor society that recognizes outstanding undergraduate and graduate students, along with outstanding faculty, professional staff and alumni.  Its mission is to recognize and promote academic excellence in all fields of higher education and to engage the community of scholars in service to others.

Faculty and staff inductees for 2006 are Sonja R. Fritzsche, assistant professor of German and Eastern European Studies, William A. Munro, associate professor of political science/director of International Studies, James Simeone, associate professor of political science and Kristin Vogel, associate university librarian and associate professor.

Student inductees for 2006 are listed alphabetically below:

• Erin Anderson of Freeburg, Ill., a graduate of Freeburg High School and a junior majoring in chemistry.

• Karen Brown of Lexington, Ill., a graduate of Lexington High School and a senior majoring in biology.

• Anna Carlson of Longmont, Colo., a graduate of Longmont High School and a senior majoring in business administration and orchestral instruments.

• Leslie Coleman of Harmon, Ill., a graduate of Newman Central Catholic High School and a junior majoring in environmental studies.

• Kristen Czarnecki of Addison, Ill., a graduate of Wheaton North High School and a junior majoring in accounting.

• Anne Fell of Carmel, Ind., a graduate of Carmel High School and a junior majoring in international studies and French.
