BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Illinois Wesleyan University's Student Senate will sponsor a weekend
of entertainment, including performances by comedians Daniel Tash and Eddie Gossling,
as well as The Pat McGee Band and Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers in the Hansen Student
Center (300 Beecher St., Bloomington).
On Friday, April 7 at 8 p.m., comedians Tash and Gossling will perform a show that
is free and open to the public. Doors open at 7 p.m.
Tash, one of the most successful and requested college comedy acts, has performed
at more than 700 campuses. He has made appearances on The Late Show with David Letterman,
MTV's Punk'd, as well as numerous performances on Comedy Central. He has performed
worldwide at comedy festivals, and recently completed his premiere CD, True Stories
I Made Up.
Gossling has performed across the U.S. and Canada at numerous comedy festivals and
clubs. He has been seen nationwide on Comedy Central's Premium Blend, as well as
on the new season of "Comedy Central Presents," with his own half hour special.
On Saturday, April 8 at 8 p.m., The Pat McGee Band and Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers
will perform. Doors open at 7 p.m. The event is free to IWU students with a student
I.D., and $10 for the general public. Tickets can be purchased at the door or online
The Pat McGee Band, who plays more than 250 shows annually, are known by critics for
their musicianship and carefully crafted songs that "don't cater to short-lived trends
and whims of the marketplace." Formed in 1996, the Pat McGee Band has earned a loyal
following nationwide. Known by critics for their "electrifying live show," the Pat
McGee Band boasts a mixture of music that appeals to all ages.
Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers, known by critics for "replacing rock attitude with
sincerity," have played more than 300 shows and sold over 10,000 copies of their independently
released albums in the past two years.
