Ann Harding Named Director of Alumni Relations

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Ann Harding has been named Director of Alumni Relations at Illinois
Wesleyan University, effective Sept. 11, 2006.
Harding has worked at the University for more than 18 years, serving as Internship
Coordinator and most recently as Assistant Director of the Career Center.
Harding's appointment was announced by Vice President for Advancement Martin W. Smith,
following an internal and external search to find a replacement for Steve Seibring,
who was recently named Associate Vice President for Major Gifts in the Development
"(Harding's) vast experience at IWU, knowledge of our alumni base, and extensive community
service will ensure that our alumni relations program continues to move forward,"
Smith said. "I am confident she will provide outstanding leadership."
As director, Harding will be responsible for the management, planning, strategy, and
implementation of alumni outreach programs. She will also be responsible for the
overall vision and mission of the Alumni Office.
During her tenure with the Career Center, Harding has been responsible for administering
a centralized internship program designed to assist students in career decision-making.
She has also been involved in planning, strategizing and implementing outreach programs
to benefit students in all majors. Harding also serves as a member of Illinois Wesleyan's
Strategic Planning and Budgeting Committee.
Her community involvement includes serving on the McLean County Board, serving as
president of the SunRise Rotary of Bloomington-Normal, and service with the Easter
Seals advisory board and the American Red Cross. She is a past president of the Illinois
Small College Placement Association.
